Admitted Students Day - Freshmen & Transfers

Admitted Students Day is for those who have been admitted to Paul Smith’s College for the Fall 2024 semester. Congratulations again on this accomplishment! We look forward to showcasing our campus and all that the community has to offer. Paul Smith’s College believes in providing you with a well-rounded college experience. We can’t wait to see you at Admitted Students Day!

Admitted Student Day will:

  • help ease you into the college transition, whether you are a recent graduate or transferring from another institution.
  • further, inform you on the decision-making process and next steps in enrolling at Paul Smith’s College.
  • introduce you to the day-to-day college experience and the local community.

*We invite you to enjoy an overnight stay at one of the area hotels, and come back to campus and join us on Saturday morning for the college’s annual Sugarbush Breakfast. We will provide transportation from campus out to the Sugarbush where you can enjoy a complementary delicious breakfast (complete with 冰球突破mg平台 maple syrup) chat with current students, alumni and community members to round out your experience!

We will be hosting several Graduate Open Houses in the next couple of months, these will include both virtual and in-person open houses.  Register here and join us for an informative interactive session. This is for students that already have a bachelor’s degree!

Saturday Visits - Freshmen & Transfers

Saturday campus tours include an admissions presentation and a guided tour.  You will spend most of your tour outdoors on our beautiful campus. Please wear comfortable shoes, check the weather in advance, and plan accordingly to have appropriate gear with you (such as a raincoat, sunscreen, an extra layer or jacket, etc.). DRIVING TO CAMPUS

From Albany, NY (160 miles) and points south:

I-87 (NYS Thruway) north to Albany, exit 24. At Albany, I-87 (NYS Thruway) becomes I-87 (Northway). I-87 (Northway) to exit 30 (104 miles). Left off exit on Rt. 9/73. Bear left on Rt. 73 (2 miles) to Rt. 86 in Lake Placid (27 miles). Rt. 86 west to Saranac Lake (9 miles). Continue on Rt. 86 (12 miles) to Paul Smith’s College.

From Syracuse, NY (190 miles) and points west:

I-90 east to Syracuse, exit 36. I-81 north to Watertown, exit 48 (70 miles). Rt. 342 to Rt. 3 (6 miles). Rt. 3 east to Deferiet (9 miles). Rt. 3A to Rt. 3 east (4 miles). Rt. 3 east to Tupper Lake (78 miles). In Tupper Lake, take Rt. 3/30 east (6 miles). Left on Rt. 30 north to Paul Smith’s College (21 miles).

From Burlington, VT (80 miles) and points east:

I-89 north from Burlington to exit 17 (10 miles). Follow signs for Grand Isle Ferry (13 miles). Grand Isle Ferry to Plattsburgh, NY. (Call 518-561-2055 for ferry information.) Off the ferry, straight on Rt. 314 to I-87 (4 miles). I-87 south to exit 38 (2 miles). Rt. 374 to Rt. 3 exit (8 miles). Rt. 3 to Bloomingdale (35 miles). Right at Norman’s General Store to Rt. 86 (4 miles), turn right at stop sign to Paul Smith’s College (5 miles).

From Utica, NY (150 miles):

Rt. 8/12 north to Rt. 12/28 (5 miles). Rt. 12/28 north to Rt. 28 (20 miles). Rt. 28 to Blue Mountain Lake (63 miles). Rt. 28/30 north to Long Lake (11 miles). Rt. 30 north to Tupper Lake (20 miles). Continue from Tupper Lake using the directions above for travel from Syracuse.

From Boston, MA (330 miles):

I-90 west to I-87 (160 miles). I-87 north to Albany, exit 24 (10 miles). Continue from Albany using the directions above for travel from Albany.

Prefer to fly? We’re just 10 minutes from SLK airport where Cape Air provides three flights daily to Boston.

From Binghamton, NY (265 miles) and points south:

I-81 north to Syracuse (72 miles). Continue from Syracuse using the directions above for travel from Syracuse.

Plattsburgh, NY (PBG): 1 hour from campus
Burlington, VT (BTV): 2 hours from campus (Most Airlines. Requires car ferry crossing.)
Albany, NY (ALB): 3.5 (Most Airlines PLUS Southwest)
Montreal, Canada (YUL): 2.5 hours from campus + customs and traffic (Most Airlines)  NOTE: Border may have strict COVID-19 restrictions. Please check before making travel arrangements.

By Train

Amtrak  NOTE: due to COVID-19 restrictions, Albany may be the furthest station if traveling northbound.

Trailways (Destination: Paul Smiths, NY) Bus drop off is behind Saunders Sports Complex.
